If you are doing it alone because of death or a co-parent who doesn’t show up, it’s tough.
You are a true hero driving to all the games, whipping all the tears, and making all the money.
You are exhausted, maybe leaning on a village to help and you wonder why it went this way.
Right now, incorporate these easy tools to make your life just a like easier.
Ask for help.
Yes, it’s hard to do but the people who love you will gladly help. Remember, friends count as family. Even if your family isn’t supportive find a community who is.
Don’t numb the pain.
Things like alcohol seem like they make it better but they actually make it worse in the long run.
Exercise
Find a way to move, even if for a few minutes. Movement is as much for your mental health as for your physical health.
Morning and evening rountines
Set aside, even a few minutes for a strong landing and launching pad to your day. When you’re fried and exhausted, a few minutes of deep breathing, journaling and stretching can make a huge difference.
Go outside
Fresh air, grounding and sunlight can help reset stress levels and hard moments.
None of it fixes your solo parenting but done consistently it can make a big difference.
Hugs.
