A response I think many of use need to use more frequently.
We make ourselves smaller, we quiet our voice, we shrink for the comfort of others.
I’m just as guilty of it here on social as I am in real life.
Why?
To some extent it’s a trauma response, we want to keep our world safe, easy, predictable – so we shrink. I think it’s also a byproduct of being a woman. We want to be the ‘good girl’ so we don’t rock the boat.
As we mature, age, learn and grow we begin to realize that keeping everyone else comfortable isn’t reality and we are tired of contouring our spirit just to keep the peace.
Ask yourself, if I’m too much for someone, why is it me who needs to adjust? Perhaps they should just find their comfort zone by being around less.
You can still be more.
In fact, be extra.
One life, live it out loud.
