I don’t care if you don’t plan to have kids or you have just have young kids.
Please, for the sake of your family, get the life insurance.
I was widowed in my mid thirties with a one and two year old, and I can tell you after working with the widowed community for more than a decade. It is such a life saver to the surviving people in your life who will know stress like none other when you pass. I know you think you’re invisible, I know you think it’ll never happen, but trust me, my late husband thought that as well but get the life insurance. You can’t afford not to because what people don’t understand is that when you’re grieving there is this immense fog that takes over your life.
You can’t delineate down the details, you can’t think straight so to add extreme financial stress to that situation is borderline cruel.
So get the life insurance. Skip the $7 coffee a few times a week. Do whatever you need to do to protect your family. And let’s hope you never ever need it, but if you do your family is going to be so thankful that you did, trust me.
